I was apprehensive when ordering these curtains as there had been some not so good reviews. The colour and material were just what I wanted and they ironed well (which I had to do to get out packing creases). I have now put them up and they look great. I dont know if they are totally black out curtains, but they certainly keep most of it out. The only minus comment is that there was a tiny mark on the material like a pen mark, but I have to say you can't really see it and is hidden in the folds of the curtains. Just what I needed. I bought the white ones. I wouldn't say they darken the room particularly... well, a bit. Maybe 30%. So no good as a blackout curtain, but that's not why I bought, just an observation. Make the room feel bigger and airier without compromising privacy or resorting to lace curtains.
